Grandma & Grandpa Come to Town!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit this last weekend! We had a little play time, a little rest and relaxation, and a lot of fun! Thanks for coming to visit!

My first Ferdinand's ice cream!

Just looking cool!

A little taste of the farmer's market.

Grandma's favorite pass-time!

Hitchin' a ride with Grandpa on our hike to the falls at Elk River.

Testing the waters with Dad. The water was actually really nice!

Just thought this one was adorable!

Me and Mom

On an evening walk. (He kept looking back to make sure no one was left behind-
so cute!)

Not sure what to think about the pokey wheat.

Ice cream... again! (The fourth time in four days!)

Good 'ol Cougar Country!

One last picture before Grandma and Grandpa leave. Love you!

Palouse Falls

Out in the middle of the Palouse, there's a waterfall! We went with Grandma and Grandpa Udy (the picture of all of us was with their camera, but I promise they were there)! We ate a picnic, then walked to "the edge" for some pictures. It turned out to be a very nice day and we're glad to finally have some summer weather!

Well, two out of three smiles isn't bad!

Happy to be out in nature.

Testing his limits on how far away from Mom and Dad he can get!

Not the first, nor last time I'll say, "Like Father, like Son!"

Trying to hold still while Grandpa takes a picture.

Even little stinkers can be cute!

Happy 3rd of July!

So for those of us who don't live in Utah, the holidays aren't "moved" if they fall on a Sunday, so we celebrated the 4th, on the 3rd! We had a neighborhood bike and stroller parade, games, a BBQ and a "cul-de-sac of fire" (in honor of Stadium of Fire)! Thanks to all those who have fought, or are still fighting for the freedoms of this great nation.

We took several family pictures, but this was as good as it got!

These are my new sporty shoes that dad bought me to match his (see last years post)!

Action shot of Cade throwing a water balloon.

Action shot of Mom catching a water balloon (Brett's in the background). We did pretty well!

Happy with a ball in his hands.

Trying to scale the slide.

Unhappy if things don't go his way.

Dad helping with lasso golf balls.

Happy to have Grandma sitting with us during the "scary" fireworks!
Happy Independence Day!

New York

We've been saving for two years to take an anniversary trip to New York and celebrate 5 wonderful years together! As much as we missed Cade, it was nice not to worry about diaper bags and toys, and to be able to go out to eat without providing entertainment for everyone else in the restaurant! Here's a brief glimpse at a few of the things we did!

Our first night there in Time Square

On a bus tour

On top of the Empire State Building
(it was a little windy, if you couldn't tell)

Intermission at "Wicked"
(Brett sported his green shirt, just for the event!)

The view from our window on a dinner cruise

Enjoying an all-you-can-eat buffet
while cruising the waters around New York City

The view at night was even more amazing

After riding a tandem bike through Central Park
(we had daylight when we started!)

The view from the Statue of Liberty - Amazing!
(the tablet she holds reads: July 4th, 1776)

We were pooped by the time we got to the top (334 steps - mostly narrow spiral stairs),
but it was worth it! Lady Liberty does not come equipped with air conditioning. The thermostat reached 100 degrees while we were up there, plus humidity!!

The view from our hotel room! (The Chrysler Building is on the right)
We got to stay one night at the Waldorf Astoria, thanks to my wonderful husband!

In one of the lobbies next to a famous old clock

Saying good-bye to the city that never sleeps
(so that we can go home and get some rest and relaxation!)
