"Let's Go Fly a Kite!"

So we've owned 3 kites for at least 3 years, and finally took them flying! The pilot of the family was a little frustrated at his first attempt - the kite crash landed more times than it took off! We concluded that it may have to be a ceiling ornament since it doesn't seem to want to fly.

Bi-plane kite #2 was more successful and Brett felt redeemed as a pilot! We went with Brett's brother Lance and his friend Robin, and enjoyed a picnic lunch despite the wind. The sun was shining but it was still a little nippy!

We had a great time and love that Brett can be home during the day at least a few times a week so that we can have fun as a family. Brett continues to love his job and we're grateful for a stable company amongst the unstable economy. I love staying home with Cade and continue to keep busy. Summer is finally peeking around the corner and look forward to enjoying it!

Little Man

I'm growing out of my clothes so fast that Mom insists on taking my picture in almost every outfit I own! This was one of her favorite "little man" outfits - aren't I handsome?

My new trick this week is trying to ALMOST roll over. I can roll to my side but my arm is still kind of in the way of completing the turn. Mom and Dad are trying to help things along, but I think they might regret it in a few months when I'm crawling!

Getting Stronger

"Look Mom! I can almost sit up!" We still can't get over this little bundle of joy that came to live with us! He's getting stronger and stronger each day, and almost seems to know how proud we are of him. He now thinks it's funny to laugh when Mom and Dad do, even when he doesn't know what they are laughing about! He's been sleeping through the night for about a month and a half now, for anywhere from 8 to 10 hours! We only hope that he teaches any future siblings how to do the same!

Impersonations....

While dressing Cade after bath time, we couldn't help but notice a little resemblance between him and another character that stands under 3 feet tall! I couldn't help but laugh for about 5 minutes!

Pictures of the Palouse

This is a view just one block from our home. The "Palouse" is the equivalent of the "Wasatch Front," in that it's the surrounding areas of small towns and farming communities. The whole area consists of rolling wheat fields that are brilliant green in the spring and golden yellow in the summer. Shopping centers are few and farming equipment plentiful, but I'm adjusting to a slower and more relaxed lifestyle!
