"Who Let the Dogs Out?"

Well, he may not be a dog, but he's figured out that the doggy-door is much more fun than the regular sliding glass door! He's turned out to be quite the smarty pants!

Day Trip

We had the chance to take a day trip with Brett to Utah! Needless to say, Grandma and Grandpa were thrilled! It was short, but sweet and we were so glad to see some of our family. Here's a little glimpse into our little 9 hour trip.

I think Cade was happy to be there!

"Cool Mom! Grandma has a little bath tub right outside her front door!"

Grandma didn't seem to mind that I was getting all wet.

Me "helping" grandpa move the rocks around by his waterfall.

Grandpa sure thinks this is fun. I liked it a little more once we got moving.

He got to see cousin Kent, but as usual, neither was quite sure why we keep trying to get them to like each other, and are always taking their pictures.

A new four generation picture. Great-grandma Poll was so surprised to see us!

Mom's Little Helper

Lately Cade has been quite the "little helper." Finding things that just aren't in the right spot, and putting them where they belong. Good thing I have him around, or else everything would be completely unorganized!

"Somehow Mom, these all ended up in the cupboard!"

"I'll just go ahead and climb on in here to get them all out."

"Not only did I help you find all these cans, but they make great toys too!"

Funny Farm

On our trip to Utah, we went to Wheeler Farm with Grandma and Grandpa Poll, and Aunt Lindsay! It was a little chilly and the wind was a little wild, but we had a good time!

Peeking at the ducks and geese.

My attempts at "rooster art."
This little piggy went to trough...then to water. (After climbing in the trough with all four feet, she then climbed into the blue trough full of water. Nothing like taking a bath and wettin' your whistle at the same time!)

A number of signs said, "Please don't feed your fingers to the animals."
We're still working on teaching Cade to read (and I guess Grandma didn't have her glasses)!

These horses didn't seem to mind that any of us were there.

Nice horsey!

Great-grandpa Poll would be proud!

"I can't wait until I turn sixteen."

Deep thought.

Aunt Lindsay enjoyed every day off she had with us!

Yeaaa!

"Look at my new toy!"

Brett's uncle was so kind and gave us this old swing set that his kids have outgrown! As you can see, it's a good thing that our back yard isn't any smaller! Cade is content in Mom or Dad's lap on the swing for now, but give it a year or two, and he'll be climbing all over it! Thanks to everyone who helped in the moving and reconstruction of it!

It's huge!

Me and Mom on the swing.

Come up here and play!

"Hello, my name is Silly Peanut Face!"
(At least according to my dad)

Thanks for putting it together for me Dad!

I could get used to this!

What cousin?

So this is Cade and his cousin Kent playing in our living room. Notice how they're oblivious to each other? It's quite hilarious! They play like this all the time, rarely noticing one another (unless Kent has something that Cade wants)! I'm sure one day they'll run around together getting into trouble, and we'd wish they would just sit and play by themselves!
Studying their blocks, very carefully.

Oh, hey! Someone else is in the same room as us!

Happy, Happy Birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday Cade!! It's been a full and eventful year for our family, and Cade has definitely added to the adventure! We love having him as part of our family, and hope you enjoy the glimpse of his first party! Thanks for all the family that made it a hit!

Mom's first attempt at fondant!
Grandma helped and I think it turned out great!

I clapped at almost everything on my special day!

I love toys!

...and books!

Is this really supposed to be on my plate?

Well, ok I'll give it a try.

Yeaa!!

Hmm... I think I like it!

Ya, I could get used to this.

Thanks for the carousel ride for my birthday, Grandma Poll!
It was fun to have Grandma & Grandpa Poll and Aunt Lindsay come visit!
We miss you!
